Community Service at Crystal Park United Methodist Church

Churchgoers of the Crystal Park United Methodist Church in Canton, Ohio, decided to continue their monthly food pantry tradition amidst the COVID-19 pandemic by moving it outside.  Attendees now wait in their vehicles while volunteers load everything to comply with the Centers for Disease Control guidelines regarding social distancing.

Members of the Stark County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Kappa Tau participated in the Faith Kitchen Grab-n-Go Food Pantry on July 25, 2020, at the church.  During this event, volunteers serviced over 200 families, giving away food and toiletry items and handing out information about voting and the 2020 Census.  Volunteers also passed out more than 40 backpacks to children for their back-to-school needs.  Bros. Casey Smith, Sean Strong, and Skyler Parks attended this event, and they were proud to be able to exemplify outstanding service and uplift to the Canton community with their social action efforts.

Crystal Park United Methodist Church plans to continue hosting the Grab-n-Go Food Pantry on the last Saturday of every month from 10 AM to Noon.
